Ray has worked on cars since he was a kid. Many times, his neighbors would see Ray under the hood of a car in his driveway. He is that same kid at heart but his locations is a little bit nicer.

Ray grew up in Fort Pierre and is a graduate of Stanley County High School. After high school, Ray worked at a local shop until he decided to further his education by attending Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD. Ray and Jessi, who is now his wife, both attended LATI and graduated in 2002. After graduation, they moved back to Pierre. Ray then went to work for another local shop before he ended up at Butler Machinery. Working on Ag equipment was alright, but his true passion was to own his own ship. Ray opened the shop (Ray's Garage) in February of 2008. It was just Ray and one part-time night mechanic. The shop has now relocated to a much bigger location across the bridge in Fort Pierre.

Ray and his wife Jessi have four kids; three boys and one girl. Kylen is 9 years old and a 4th grader at Jefferson Elementary, who participates in Junior Dragster racing in the summer. Damen is 5 years old and loves cars just as much as his dad. Noah, who is 4 years old, has the sweetest smile. Finally, Sissy (Kaydence) is 3 years old and will steal your heart at first sight.

Even though their family is done growing, their family business still continues to grow. Ray's Garage is busier than ever. With two mechanics now working along side Ray, they all stay pretty busy! Ray and his crew are some of the best mechanics in the Pierre/Fort Pierre area! Feel free to stop by or call to make your car appointment today!
